Chicago Bulls and Josh Giddey remain apart on contract talks, but reports suggest both sides are moving toward a long-term deal worth around $80–90 million, securing the 22-year-old guard as a key piece of the franchise’s future.
Chicago Bulls contract talks with Josh Giddey have been stuck for weeks, but there’s finally some positive news for fans in the Windy City.
The main issue has been money. Giddey has been pushing for a $30 million annual deal, while the Bulls are trying to keep their offer closer to the $20 million mark. That gap has left negotiations at a standstill.
Still, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Chicago supporters shouldn’t panic just yet. He reports that both sides are moving toward an agreement before the 2025-26 season tips off.
“All indications from Chicago this summer are that the Bulls and Josh Giddey will find common ground on a new, long-term contract that keeps him as one of the building blocks of the franchise,” Siegel wrote. “If there is a deal to be had here between Chicago and the Aussie, it’s expected to be a four-year contract in the $80 million to $90 million range.”
That’s less than the $30 million Giddey has been asking for, but a four-year deal would still secure his role as a key piece of Chicago’s core.
Giddey is coming off a solid campaign in his first season with the Bulls, averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 70 games, 69 of them as a starter.
