BREAKING: Awful and heartbreaking news for Alisson and Kelleher has been confirmed today after Liverpool decisions

Liverpool may consider a significant shake-up in their goalkeeping department as part of a potential squad overhaul in 2025.

For years, Alisson Becker has been the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper, with Caoimhin Kelleher serving as a reliable backup during Alisson’s absences.

However, reports now suggest that Giorgi Mamardashvili’s anticipated arrival at Anfield next summer could lead to major changes in this position.

Liverpool open to a potential double goalkeeper sale

According to *TBR Football*, Liverpool might be willing to sell both Alisson and Kelleher in what would be a dramatic double departure.

The club spent £30 million in August to secure Mamardashvili, who remains at Valencia this season, and they expect significant interest in Alisson if they choose to sell the experienced Brazilian.

This would allow them to recover the investment in the Georgian goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Kelleher, who has performed well in Alisson’s absence due to recent injuries, has expressed a desire to become a first-choice goalkeeper—a role he is unlikely to attain at Liverpool.

Selling both would be a major gamble

Although Mamardashvili is expected to be Liverpool’s new number one, selling both Alisson and Kelleher would be a considerable risk.

Alisson has been a transformative presence at Anfield since his arrival six years ago, consistently delivering world-class performances. Kelleher has also proven himself as a dependable backup, often stepping up when needed.

While Alisson has faced recurring injury issues, especially in the past year, his quality remains undeniable. On the other hand, Kelleher has shown he is ready for a starting role, potentially at another Premier League club.

It’s plausible that one of the two could be sold to accommodate Mamardashvili, with Kelleher seemingly the likelier candidate to leave given Alisson’s established status when fit.

However, selling both would put immense pressure on Mamardashvili to perform immediately, as he would be stepping into the shoes of two highly capable goalkeepers, raising concerns about the wisdom of such a move.
