Bulls trade proposal lands perfect backcourt mate for Josh Giddey

Bulls trade proposal lands perfect backcourt mate for Josh Giddey image

The Chicago Bulls have had a relatively quiet offseason, but they might have a perfect deal for them in the near future.

Over the past couple of months, most of the NBA has been looking ahead to next season and perhaps making some final moves around the edges. However, there have still been a few teams looking to make their biggest moves of the offseason, and the Bulls are in that boat.

Of course, that holdup for most teams has been restricted free agents refusing to agree to any deals this summer, with Josh Giddey being that guy in Chicago. While Giddey is likely going to be back in Chicago on a long-term deal in the near future, that doesn’t mean the Bulls should hold up the rest of their plans in the final weeks before next season.

Time to add some shooting

Last season, the Bulls were again in the play-in and were bounced before getting a chance to make the playoffs. However, there is still a chance for the Bulls to make some noise next season with an interesting group.

Of course, with Giddey potentially running the show at point guard, the Bulls could use some more shooting, which is where Fantasy Sports on SI’s Thomas Carelli has a solution.

Bulls receive: Donte DiVincenzo

Timberwolves receive: Ayo Dosunmu, 2028 second-round pick

Although Minnesota might not want to part with DiVincenzo, this deal makes sense for both sides. With Giddey likely returning to Chicago, adding some shooting and sending out a point guard is simply a logical move. And, of course, the Timberwolves could use another reliable point guard on the roster, as that is their biggest weak spot.

Still, going into next season, the Bulls have some problems to address, and a trade like this could solve one of them.
