The New York Knicks have had a solid offseason thus far as they have made multiple additions to their roster to upgrade their bench which was a major problem last season.
Of course, the Knicks will enter the new season with their core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart returning and they also added both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in free agency.
New York also has one more open roster spot that they are expected to use to add another veteran to their second unit.
With these moves, the Knicks are expected to be one of the top teams in the East this season as they try to end their championship drought.
5-team mock trade sends Giannis Antetokounmpo to Knicks
While the Knicks have put together one of the top rosters in the East, they continued to be linked to Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey recently released a wild five-team blockbuster trade that would send Giannis to New York.
In this blockbuster mock trade, Bailey has the Knicks landing Giannis while sending Towns to the Miami Heat.
The Bucks would acquire a package of Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier and two first-round picks from the Heat while also landing Harrison Barnes from the San Antonio Spurs and three first and second-round picks from the Knicks.San Antonio would land Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz while the Jazz would acquire Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan and two first-round picks from the Spurs, Bobby Portis from the Bucks and Tyler Kolek from the Knicks.
This is truly a wild trade that would completely shake up the landscape of the NBA as multiple superstar players would be moved with the Knicks, Heat and Spurs all landing another star player to improve their title odds this season.
For the Knicks, while moving on from Towns and multiple first-round picks would be a tough thing to do, adding arguably a top five player in the world in Giannis alongside their core led by Brunson would likely make them into the clear favorite to win the East this season.
Of course, New York has been linked to Giannis for multiple years with the star’s future in Milwaukee uncertain, though the Bucks have no interest in moving him
While that may be the case, Milwaukee would land some solid players and draft capital in this trade that would help them currently and in the future.
Despite this, it is hard to imagine the Bucks trading Giannis unless he demands a trade, which looks more and more unlikely to happen.
