Third baseman Ryan McMahon didn’t hold back in his evaluation of his performance since joining the Yankees on July 25.
McMahon, who arrived in the Bronx via a trade with the Colorado Rockies, hit his second home run in 28 games with the Yankees on Wednesday.
“Oh, man, finally,” he said, via Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. “I’ve sucked. I don’t think it’s a secret, so I’m just trying to get going.”
McMahon has a .649 OPS with the Yankees, even after his three-run home run.
A standout in the field, McMahon has been a below average hitter, with some power, for most of his career. In Colorado this season, he hit .217 with a .717 OPS. He has 18 home runs and 46 RBIs in 2025.
In exchange for McMahon, the Yankees sent pitching prospects Josh Grosz and Griffin Herring to the Rockies.
