Depending on how the first few weeks or months of the season go for the Chicago Bulls, there could be some changes to the roster.
At the very least, the Bulls have to be looking to move on from some of their veteran players, including 34-year-old Nikola Vucevic.
Vucevic is a decent player, evidenced by his two All-Star appearances, but he doesn’t exactly have the market that the Bulls have been hoping for over the past few years.
Will Nikola Vucevic be on the move?
In Vucevic’s defense, the Bulls haven’t done what they’ve needed to do on the trade market in recent years. They’ve continued to lose trades.
At this point, there might not be a possibility of losing a trade for Vucevic unless they have to straight-up buy him out.
In a recent trade idea from Sports Illustrated’s Dave Holcomb, the Bulls would finally accomplish getting a first-round pick in a deal with the Miami Heat.
Chicago Bulls receive: Future first-round pick
Miami Heat receive: Nikola Vucevic
“Chicago is in rebuild mode. The organization is also rumored to be interested in dumping Vučević’s salary. That rumor reached a peak in July when pundits suggested the Bulls could simply buy-out the center. Such a move would make Vučević a free agent.
“It would make much more basketball sense for the Bulls to acquire a first-round pick or some other type of asset for Vučević,” he wrote.
The Miami Heat could be a much better team next season because the Eastern Conference is dealing with a few injuries to its star players.
If Vucevic were to be traded to the Heat, they’d be adding a player who can get them 20 and 10 every game.
