- Travis Kelce spent about $38,000 on Taylor Swift’s engagement photos, according to florist Ashley Greer.
- She estimates that 800 pounds of vegetation was needed to achieve the look, in addition to 1,200 roses and at least 1,000 other flowers.
- Kelce achieved the fairytale setting with willow, ivy, and roses.
You can’t put a price on true love, such as the bond between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, which they so stunningly put on display yesterday by announcing the news of their engagement.
However, you can put a price on some things—most notably the music mogul’s new massive old mine brilliant cut diamond ring (which clocks in at a near whopping $1 million) and the more than 2,000 flowers Kelce used to set the fairytale scene.
I’m sure you (and then entire globe) have seen the pictures, which look more likely to be out of a Disney princess movie than real life.
But, alas, it was real life, and those astounding 2,000 flowers are estimated to have cost up to $38,000, per expert and florist Ashley Greer who spoke to People.
The magical proposal took place at the NFL star’s Kansas City home, as revealed by his dad, Ed. As the tale goes, “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine.’
They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed detailed.
Kelce had transformed his courtyard into a majestic garden, full of lush trees and bouquets of white, pink, and orange flowers in massive planters, wrapped around arches, and scattered about.
These weren’t just any flowers either; they pulled symbolism from Swift’s extensive music catalog, including willow, ivy, and roses, according to Greer.
She estimates that 800 pounds of vegetation was needed to achieve the look, in addition to 1,200 roses and at least 1,000 other flowers.
Swifties were quick to notice that Kelce’s courtyard proposal strikes quite a resemblance to Swift’s 2019 “Lover” photoshoot, which sees her in a similar floral-filled garden.
Kelce popping the question clearly made for a special and sentimental moment, which the couple couldn’t wait to share with their loved ones.
“They started FaceTiming me and their mother [Donna Kelce] and her folks to make sure everybody knew,” Ed shared.
The pair did, however, wait to unveil the news to the world.
They dropped the announcement on their own terms, taking to Instagram with a joint post captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
