On Friday night, the Dallas Cowboys took the field for their final matchup of the 2025 preseason. Despite not being in action, Micah Parsons ended up being one of the major talking points of the evening.

As most know, Parsons has been in an ongoing feud with the Cowboys regarding a contract extension. In light of their failure to reach an agreement, it’s evolved into a messy and public standoff.

Despite how things have unfolded in recent weeks, Parsons has still remained around the team to show his support. He was one of many members of the Cowboys in street clothes on the sidelines Friday, where he eventually went viral online.

In light of the events that have transpired in recent weeks, countless people weighed in on his actions online. Photos also made the rounds on social media, with the star linebacker being accused of sleeping during Dallas’ preseason finale.

As the discourse raged on, one insider came to Parsons’ defense and added more context to the situation. This led to the All-Pro linebacker chiming in with his thoughts as well.

He let the world know that he would never sleep on the sidelines while his teammates are hard at work on the field. “I actually appreciate this,” Parsons wrote on X Saturday.

“The way media shapes perception and narratives is wild-and if he hadn’t said anything, everyone would’ve just run with it. I’d never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives.”

He noted that the linebacker’s back is still bothering him and that he had to undergo an MRI earlier this week. “I don’t know, his back is kinda tight.

With the preseason behind them, the Cowboys now begin prepping for their Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

As of now, it remains unknown if Dallas will have Parsons’ services to officially kick off the regular season.
