New York Post | Peter Botte: The Yankees invested heavily in their bullpen at the trade deadline, and outside of David Bednar, they don’t have much to show for it. That’s due in part to the struggles of Camilo Doval, who says he’s still adjusting after arriving in New York. “Just adjusting to the role here now,” Doval said through an interpreter after Thursday night’s loss. “Just getting ready earlier, preparing myself earlier to go into the game.” Aaron Boone noted that while Doval has great stuff, he needs to throw strikes, something he hasn’t done in nine appearances with the Yankees thus far.

Leitch details which teams have the easiest and hardest schedules remaining, with the Yankees coming out as having the easiest strength of schedule the rest of the way. Their last 13 games in particular will offer a huge opportunity to close strong; series against the Twins, Orioles, and White Sox. On the other end of the spectrum, the Red Sox have one of the harder schedules among contenders, with remaining series against Toronto and Detroit, not to mention a date with the A’s, who have looked like a different team since the promotion of Nick Kurtz.
