Can we call this their first duet?
Travis Kelce, 35, shamelessly flexed his vocal prowess in front of his girlfriend Taylor Swift, also 35, before she made her New Heights podcast debut on Aug. 13.
Before the episode began, the couple — who’ve been dating since October 2023 — prepared their speaking voices with a few vocal warm ups, techniques familiar to the 14-time Grammy winner.
As for her football-player boyfriend? Not so much, as seen in a viral clip shared by the New Heights official X account on Wednesday, Aug. 20..
Travis’ brother Jason Kelce, who co-hosts New Heights with the Chiefs star, kicked off the vocal exercises captured in the video.

“Ow now, brown cow! Ow now, brown cow!” the retired Philadelphia Eagles player chanted to loosen up his lips ahead of the two-hour-long episode they recorded with Swift, covering topics that ranged from her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, to her whirlwind romance with Travis.
“Unique New York,” stated the three-time Super Bowl winner, another popular tongue twister commonly used as a voice exercise.
Then, Swift entered the chat, demonstrating a popular vocal warm-up known as a lip trill. The technique didn’t require words, rather, she simply kept her lips together while she inhaled and exhaled, vibrating her lips as she hummed up and down the musical scale.
“See, now that’s… that’s —” chimed in an impressed Jason, who was then cut off by his brother as Travis blurted out a loud sentence in the form of his own vocal warm up.
“I’m really excited!,” he yelled into the camera, looking up and opening up his mouth wide to conclude the clip.
Over the years, Travis has made it clear that shy isn’t a character trait that describes him (see his post-Super Bowl belt into “Viva Las Vegas!” in 2024, for example — or most recently, when the Chiefs star joined Swift on stage at her Eras Tour for a surprise performance).
The couple recounted the out-of-body moment on the podcast, and talked about what it was really like to perform on a stage in front of 90,000 fans alongside one of the biggest pop stars in the world during her third show at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Travis sported a tuxedo and top hat and joined Swift for her “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” outfit change — a transition the “Bad Blood” singer first introduced when she began incorporating songs from The Tortured Poets Department album into the tour.
Swift made clear that she was “never going to pressure” the athlete into joining her on stage, but said that she “saw that twinkle” in his eye that made her confident in knowing that he was into the idea.
“You got up there. You were so good. Every single beat. His comedic timing is crazy,” Swift raved of Travis’ on-stage presence. She added, “And when the lights are bright, he like slows down time… that’s when he thrives.”
However, Travis had a slightly different view on the bright-light scenario.
“Well no, that’s just when I black out and hope that it ends up perfect,” he made clear, remembering, “I rose from that stage and I saw how many people are looking at you and I was just like… blackout.”
Swift, complimentary and supportive, reassured him that he crushed it.
“You looked so good. It was amazing. It was one of the loudest, if not the loudest screams I have ever heard on the tour. It really was,” she told her boyfriend in the episode.
