Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid might get credited with an assist in setting up Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
The couple opened up about the start of their famous relationship, with the singer revealing that Reid had a hand in helping the two get together. Reid had already hinted that he played a part in setting up the two, and Swift now appears to have confirmed his involvement.

Appearing together on the Kelce brothers’ “New Heights” podcast this week, both Swift and Kelce addressed the rumors that Reid helped set them up. Swift revealed that when she had some growing interest in Kelce — but before the pair officially started dating — several people vouched for the NFL star.
One of them was Reid, who had an existing friendship with Swift’s father.
“There were a lot of kind of people whispering in my ear about you,” Swift said. “And like, actually, that’s not normal. There are people willing to just go to bat for you, and be like, ‘You don’t understand. This guy is incredible.’ ”
Kelce shared a new nickname for his wingman coach for his role in setting up the famous relationship.
“‘Cupid,’ ‘Big Red.’ It’s all the same,” Kelce said.
Swift shared her appreciation for Reid as well.
“Thank you Andy, for everything,” Swift added.

Reid had recently shared some love for the couple, saying in an appearance on 96.5 The Fan with Fescoe and Dusty that he had some fodder for a potential wedding speech if the pair decided to tie the knot.
“Well, there are a few [stories] I can’t tell,” Reid joked.
But the Chiefs coach admitted that there are a lot of great things he can say about the All-Pro tight end.
“No, there are a lot of great stories,” Reid said. “He’s done so many good things, all the things he’s done off the field that people don’t know about, just helping people out. He’s got a big heart that way and I appreciate that the most.”
Reid also gave credit to Swift for helping boost women’s interest in the sport of football, which coincided with a push from the NFL to encourage and develop flag football for girls at the high school level.
“I think it’s great. Obviously, women and girls are looking at the game a little bit more,” he said. “Look at flag football, we’re talking about Olympic sports, college sports… Girls are having the opportunity to play the game. They’re loving it.”
“Not that it was all tied into [Swift], but she had a big part of that,” Reid added. “And the NFL has bought into that, too, they’ve been supporting that. I think it’s a beautiful thing all around.”
Reid also gave his blessing to the relationship, praising both Kelce and Swift for how they can manage the worldwide attention they have received.
“Like I said, the thing that I appreciate most is how [Swift] handles it and how Trav handles it. They just do it the right way,” he said, adding, “And they’re not a distraction by any means… Absolutely not, there’s no distraction because of how they handle it.”
