Throughout the summer, everyone has been wondering what’s next for Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls.

Will he remain a member of the team, or move to a new destination, one that will give him a better deal?

Recently, there were rumors of Giddey heading to the Golden State Warriors, but apparently, there wasn’t much to that speculation.

In a new piece for ClutchPoints, Brett Siegel made it clear: Giddey was never leaving the Bulls, and any talk of him going to Golden State was just a maneuver to get a better contract out of Chicago.

“This was a means of Giddey’s side trying to increase the price one last time,” per Brett Siegel, via Fullcourtpass.

The Warriors and Bulls never discussed a trade for Josh Giddey, per @BrettSiegelNBA

Siegel said that the Bulls want Giddey, and they are quite sure that they will get him.

He should be coming back to Chicago in the new season and should be part of their starting lineup on opening night.

The question isn’t if he will return.

Instead, it’s for how much?

There is still debate about the size of the contract that Giddey will get, and there isn’t a clear indication if he will agree to a three or four-year deal.

There are still many moving pieces about Giddey’s involvement with the Bulls, but it sounds like he isn’t leaving the Windy City.

This is good news for the Bulls, because they are attempting to find some stability and build a strong identity, ideally around a central figure.

After a very promising first season with the team, it seems like Giddey could be that central figure.

Of course, Chicago doesn’t want to pay too much, so they are trying to work out a deal that makes everyone happy.
