5-Time NBA Champ Dismisses Draymond Green’s Opinion on Michael Jordan

Warriors News

Former Chicago Bulls guard Ron Harper dismissed what Draymond Green said in the past about Michael Jordan. The Golden State Warriors star watered down one of Jordan’s achievements, which didn’t set well with the five-time NBA champion.

The GOAT debate is almost exclusively between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Over the years, countless fans and experts have brought up arguments about who the better player is. In 2022, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green went viral with his opinion about the debate.

Green has formed a close friendship with James and has repeatedly said that the Los Angeles Lakers star is a better player. In the video from 2022, the four-time champion spoke highly of the Lakers forward. Green argued that the four-time MVP immediately became the best player in the NBA in 2005.

He progressively brought up the teams he has guided to titles when talking about the 40-year-old. Additionally, Green discussed the teams James has faced.

Ron Harper Defends Jordan From Green

When talking about James, Green brought up Jordan. According to the star forward, the former Chicago Bulls star didn’t have to play against the “greatest team ever assembled.” The four-time All-Star was referring to his Warriors team that won 73 games, beating the Bulls’ record of 72 wins in the 1995-96 season.

In 2016, James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 3-1 comeback against the Warriors to win the NBA championship 4-3.

“MJ didn’t beat the greatest team ever assembled, nor did he run up against the greatest team ever assembled,” Green said.

His quote resurfaced and caught the attention of Ron Harper. The former NBA guard played with the Bulls and was also part of the 72-10 Bulls team that won the title against the Seattle Supersonics.

Given that he had the chance to play with Jordan and win the title in the same season, he dismissed what Green said about his former teammate.

“Who cares what he say???” Harper replied to the post.

The Bulls and Warriors are the only teams to have ever won at least 70 games. However, the way their season was different. Chicago finished the job and won the title, while Golden State lost in the Finals after blowing a 3-1 lead.

Harper has been vocal about who he thinks is the greatest player of all time, which is MJ. His reaction to Green’s comments wasn’t a surprise, as he benefited from playing with Jordan, resulting in three of his five championship wins.
