Kansas City Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt has taken a playful jab at the outrage around Sydney Sweeney and her American Eagle jeans campaign.
Hunt, 26, the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark, shared an image to her Instagram posing in the street on a summer’s night, writing as the caption: ‘Denim days & dreamy nights. I like the view and my jeans (not American Eagles – but they are American).’
It comes after Hollywood star Sweeney fronted a new commerical with the brand to promote their jeans, which was branded ‘Nazi propaganda’ by some on the extreme left.
‘Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,’ Sydney said in the commercial. ‘My jeans are blue.’
The genes/jeans wordplay caused controversy in the context of the blonde-haird, blue-eyed Sweeney with some claiming the campaign was the equilavent to ‘Nazi propaganda’ and veered towards white supremacy.
When the commercial launched, fans took to social media saying the campaign was ‘aryan eugenics s***’. Another said: ‘Maybe I am too woke… but how do ‘Sydney (& American Eagle) somehow expect audiences to not interpret this visual as a euphemism for eugenics and white supremacy?’

The comments under Hunt’s latest post showed how the Sweeney outrage hadn’t been lost on her family, either.
‘I love your jeans. And your genes,’ commented Hunt’s mom, Tavia with winking face emoji. Gracie replied: ‘Got them from my momma.’
The Hunt family are less than a month away from having their attention fixed onto the new NFL season, when the Chiefs start their 2025 campaign against Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil on September 5.
The team are looking to avenge February’s crushing Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, where they were blown away 40-22 on the biggest stage in New Orleans.
In the offseason, Hunt has also been enjoying the early days of a new romance.
She has started dating Derek Hunt, the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green.
Hunt initially kept his identity a secret after going public with the romance itself – she didn’t name Green or tag him in her posts with him on her social media accounts.
But last month, she finally confirmed his identity and said in a post that she has been dating ‘her best friend’.
