“Yeah, he’s (Jared Wiley) got a little swelling in there, so we just got to watch that.” said Reid during Sunday’s press conference, “We were trying to limit his reps and ease him in, but it would swell up a little bit so we’re just keeping an eye on him.”
Wiley has made several appearances in camp, practicing with the team but with caution in hopes of reaggravating the injury.
Wiley earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2023 for TCU. He had 47 receptions for 520 yards and eight touchdowns. He was expected to have a significant role as a rotational tight end in Kansas City’s offense before suffering a torn ACL that prematurely ended his rookie season.
The 24-year-old recorded one reception for seven yards last season, spending most of his time on special teams for Kansas City.
