Will Patrick Williams justify his contract? That’s the big question for Bulls Nation.
In June 2024, Williams signed a 5-year, $90 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, including a player option for the 2028-29 season. This deal was based on his two-way potential and improved shooting over the first four years in the league.
Despite doubts about his consistency, his improved overall game convinced the Bulls’ management to give him the $90M deal.
However, the 2024-25 season, his first under the new contract, was underwhelming and enough to shake the faith of many Bulls fans.
In his fifth NBA season, Williams looked almost the same as he did as a rookie, with hardly any improvement.
His stats took a massive hit:

3P% dropped from 39.9% (2023-24) to 35.3% (2024-25)

FG% fell from 44.3% (2023-24) to 39.7% (2024-25)

His catch-and-shoot FG% was an abysmal 36.5%
Even with playmakers like Josh Giddey creating open looks, P-Will shots weren’t falling. Defensively, one game he locks down elite scorers, but next game, he’s getting torched by bench players.
With his contract running until 2029, the question is whether it’s worth keeping him. Bulls fans have already seen management holding onto players for far too long who eventually became untradeable.
With four years left on Patrick Williams’ deal, Bulls fans are asking:

Is it already an overpay?

Will Chicago end up stuck with another untradeable contract?

Or can Pat finally turn it around next season?
Bulls Nation, should management trust the process with Patrick Williams?
