While training camp activities at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph are still spooling up, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid may have already uttered his quote of the year.
During his comments to reporters on Friday, August 1, Reid was asked about veteran wide receiver Rashee Rice, who is expected to face a suspension at some point this season after criminal proceedings against him that stemmed from a 2024 traffic incident in Dallas, Texas, were resolved last month.
In responding to a member of the media about Rice’s progression at training camp, Reid said that the former Southern Methodist University Mustang was “full speed ahead” before dropping a sardonic “no pun intended.”
Take a look at Reid’s full quip about Rice in this video, which was posted to Twitter by Matt Lane of KCSN:

Reid may be keen to poke fun at Rice’s incident now, but the effects of the star pass-catcher’s eventual suspension won’t be a laughing matter for members of Kansas City’s coaching staff, which still doesn’t know how long their top wideout will be sidelined.
