Juan Soto Rumors: Details Of Yankees’ Meeting With Superstar

Juan Soto has a significant item on his schedule Monday.

Soto, the most coveted player in Major League Baseball free agency, is set for a meeting with the Yankees. New York’s time with the superstar outfielder will follow meetings involving other Soto suitors, including the Toronto Blue Jays, the Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets.

NJ.com’s Bob Klapisch on Sunday provided details about the Yankees’ plans for their session with Soto. Owner Hal Steinbrenner, general manager Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone reportedly will “drive home the Yankees’ sales pitch.” A point of emphasis from that group will be the “idea of pairing up with Aaron Judge and going to the playoffs practically every year,” per Klapisch.

The Bronx Bombers seemingly are prepared to make the financial commitment necessary to sign Soto as well. Steinbrenner reportedly is “all in” on the four-time All-Star, but according to Klapisch, there’s no guarantee the Yankees will be the highest bidder. That’s a fair assumption considering the Mets’ Steve Cohen, one of the boldest owners in sports, is involved in the equation.

So, while the pecking order of Soto favorites remains a little fuzzy, it seems fair to assume the Yankees will make a very compelling pitch to the game-changing outfielder.
