The Chicago Bulls are exploring ways to move center Nikola Vucevic, but due to his age and salary, a midseason buyout now seems more likely than a trade.
Chicago Bulls veteran center Nikola Vucevic has been with the team since 2021. Despite this, the Bulls are reportedly attempting to trade him quietly.

Trading the two-time NBA All-Star, who carries a $20 million salary, isn’t easy—especially this late in the offseason when teams typically focus on moving larger contracts.
At 34 years old, Vucevic’s age also makes it harder to find a trade partner, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
“There hasn’t been much of a market for Nikola Vucevic all along, dating back to last trade deadline,” Fischer noted. “I think at this juncture, we’re probably more likely to see a Nikola Vucevic buyout midseason than we are to see a trade.”

Vucevic has often been the subject of trade rumors. Last season, he averaged 18.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists over 73 games.
Throughout his 14-year NBA career, he has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Chicago Bulls.
