DeMar DeRozan could be traded by the Kings if they acquire Jonathan Kuminga, as part of a reported handshake agreement that may send DeRozan to a team like the Miami Heat.
Restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga is reportedly the main reason the Golden State Warriors remain the only team that hasn’t made a trade or signing this offseason.

But if he’s moved, Kuminga could have a ripple effect—potentially reshaping not just the Warriors, but also the roster of his next team.
According to Allen Stiles of Sactown Sports 1140, there may be a quiet understanding between the Sacramento Kings and DeMar DeRozan regarding his future—tied directly to a potential Kuminga deal.
“I believe that there is a handshake agreement between DeMar DeRozan and the Sacramento Kings,” Stiles said. “That is my belief. If Jonathan Kuminga is acquired by the Sacramento Kings.”
If Sacramento lands Kuminga, DeRozan could be on the move.
One possible trade partner for DeRozan is the Miami Heat, who could offer Terry Rozier and two second-round picks, helping the Kings clear salary.

The Warriors are reportedly interested only in forward Keegan Murray or guard Keon Ellis, and have no intention of taking on Malik Monk’s contract.
They’re holding out for a stronger return—ideally, a quality young player plus future draft capital.
Meanwhile, Kuminga is exploring sign-and-trade options. He’s looking for a larger role and a significant pay raise—reportedly seeking $25–30 million per year, well above the Warriors’ offer of around $20 million annually on a three-year deal.
DeRozan, 35, averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists over 77 games with the Kings last season.
