Actor Alexander Skarsgård played coy when asked if Taylor Swift’s song “Wildest Dreams” is about him.

While Skarsgård appeared on Monday’s episode of “Armchair Expert,” host Dax Shepard explained that he has a recurring joke with his daughter that “Wildest Dreams” is about him before bringing up that many believe the song is actually about Skarsgård.

“Do you have the same fear to either acknowledge or deny that that could be true because the power of the Swifties is so strong, you just don’t even want to talk about it?” Shepard asked.

Skarsgård replied with a simple, “Yeah.”

“It’s about Brad Pitt,” Skarsgård quipped. “Let’s be honest.”

“I’m going to be honest,” he added. “I wrote the lyrics to that song myself and sent it to Taylor.”

Swifties have long theorised “Wildest Dreams” is about Skarsgård. Swift and Skarsgård were seen together in South Africa in 2013 while filming “The Giver,” where Swift sported brunette hair. “Wildest Dreams” was released on Swift’s “1989” album in 2014, and a year after that, she followed it up with its music video. In the video, Swift played a brunette actor having a love affair with her co-star on a film set in Africa.

While Swift never really flat-out says who each of her songs are about, she isn’t exactly subtle about it, either.

Swift implied to Rolling Stone in 2014 that her songs “I Wish You Would” and “All You Had To Do Was Stay” were about Harry Styles and when asked about the song “Style,” she reportedly grinned and said, “We should have just called it ‘I’m Not Even Sorry.’”

She’s also been known to leave Easter eggs in songs and music videos for fans to try and decode who each song is about.

Off her latest album, Swift has a song called “thanK you aIMee,” in which the letters K, I and M are capitalised, leaving many fans to believe the song is about her longstanding feud with Kim Kardashian.
