The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly discussed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Donte DiVincenzo as potential trade targets with the Grizzlies and Timberwolves.
The Los Angeles Lakers might not be done making serious moves this offseason.
According to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Lakers have discussed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Donte DiVincenzo as potential trade targets with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Talks involving Caldwell-Pope reportedly took place after he was included in the Desmond Bane–Orlando trade.
Meanwhile, Minnesota reportedly turned down trade discussions involving DiVincenzo with the Lakers almost immediately.
Acquiring either player could be a game-changer for the Lakers’ championship hopes, as both bring much-needed versatility on both ends of the court—especially on the defensive end.
Caldwell-Pope averaged 8.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists last season with the Orlando Magic.
The 28-year-old DiVincenzo averaged 11.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game last season with the Timberwolves.
