New Chiefs Addition Already Off to Terrible Start at Camp with KC

The Kansas City Chiefs have used the last couple of months to make some changes to the roster. Training camp officially opened up on Monday for KC, and the preparation for the 2025 season will step into overdrive.

When speaking to reporters on Sunday, head coach Andy Reid said that Jawaan Taylor and Krisitan Fulton will start camp on the physically unable to perform list, but Taylor has a better chance of returning first.

Reid stated, “I’d tell you Jawaan (Taylor) is probably closer (to retuning than Kristian Fulton for camp).”

Chiefs CB Kristian Fulton Is Going To Begin Training Camp on PUP

The specific injuries have not been disclosed, but this isn’t the first step Fulton wanted to get off on. He landed a two-year, $20 million deal in KC and is expected to be a starter. In 57 games (51 starts) with the Titans and Chargers, he posted 201 total tackles, 32 pass breakups, and five interceptions.

One of the biggest problems throughout his career is his health. The LSU product has never played in more than 15 games in his career. Kansas City needed to get better in the secondary, and Fulton is someone who fits the bill. Outside of Trent McDuffie, there isn’t a spot locked down in the secondary.

While Reid doesn’t sound worried, missing out in these sessions with his new team isn’t ideal. The fact that Taylor is expected to return ahead of Fulton shows that the corner’s injury seems to be more serious.

It’ll be interesting to see how things unfold over the next few days. Getting valuable practice reps in a new scheme is vital to hit the ground running when the season opens up in September.

The Chiefs paid him for a reason, and they want to see him out there, but things didn’t get off on the right footing.
