It’s been well-documented that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce won’t ever pass up an opportunity to brag about his girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift.
Kelce has ingratiated himself with the Swifties for the many times he’s waxed poetic about Swift’s many accomplishments, including her record-setting “Eras Tour,” which spanned 51 cities in 21 countries across two years and ended as the highest-grossing tour of all-time ($2.2 billion in gross revenue).
But on Thursday, Kelce encountered something a little different.
Instead of a sports media pundit taking passive-aggressive shots at his relationship or blaming Swift for Kelce’s underwhelming 2024 season (he set new career lows with 823 yards receiving and three touchdowns), recording artist Jelly Roll instead used his public platform to heap some praise on Swift.
During an appearance on ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show,” Jelly Roll applauded Swift for her tireless efforts to make the “Eras Tour” so successful, which included playing sets that would run for several hours on three and sometimes four consecutive nights.
“Taylor — four nights, five nights in Indianapolis, dude, she’s the GOAT,” Jelly Roll said. “I will fistfight anybody who says otherwise. Travis, don’t even worry — I got this one. Like, she’s the GOAT.”
Jelly Roll’s remarks caught Kelce’s eye, which prompted him to show some love for his appreciating of how hard Swift works at her craft.
“😂😂 my dawg is the realest!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻,” Kelce commented.
Kelce’s reaction turned a few heads with several fans replying to Kelce’s comment, and some even urging him to bring Jelly Roll on as a guest for an episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“@killatrav @newheightshow would absolutely love to see him on the show someday!” one fan wrote.
“@killatrav we need Jelly on New Heights,” another agreed.
“@killatrav ❤️👏,” one user replied.
“It wasn’t a call out it was an I got you bro don’t stress 😂,” another user noted.
To Jelly Roll’s point, Swift’s “Eras Tour” was so popular it was named Tour of the Century at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, where she also won awards for Artist of the Year, Best Lyrics, Best Music Video, Favorite On Screen, Favorite Tour Tradition, and Pop Album of the Year.
Kelce even shared in Swift’s big night at the iHeartRadio awards. His appearance with Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium during the final night of the London stop of the “Eras Tour” also won Swift the award for Favorite Surprise Guest.
