Report: Quinten Post did not play Summer League due to injury

Rookie Quinten Post drills first career 3-pointer on Friday vs. Pacers - Yahoo Sports

Quinten Post — selected 52nd overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2024 NBA Draft and who had an unexpectedly strong rookie season for someone drafted in the late second round — didn’t play in this year’s Summer League in Las Vegas due to an injury, per a report from NBC Sports Bay Area, who also quoted Danny Emmerman of the San Francisco Standard.

An ankle injury flaring up before the California Classic is the culprit behind Post’s summer league absence, the SF Standard’s Danny Emmerman reported Tuesday. It was an injury that Post dealt with throughout the second half of the 2024-25 NBA season, and it appears Golden State wasn’t keen on taking any risks with the sharpshooting big man.

While Post didn’t play, he did spend time working out in the Warriors’ Summer League practice facility while also watching the games.

Post’s health is of importance, considering he’s a 7-foot stretch five who shot nearly 41% on threes last season with relatively high volume (9.5 attempts per 75 possessions). This could also be a good time for him to add strength to his lanky frame, a hole in his repertoire that was, at times, significantly glaring last season.
