Chiefs’ DC Steve Spagnuolo found a way to indirectly insult Josh Allen

AFC Championship Game: Buffalo Bills v Kansas City Chiefs

The second season of “Quarterback” is officially back on Netflix and NFL fans will be able to follow along the journeys of quarterbacks Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Kirk Cousins. All of them have had interesting journeys the past year, especially Cousins. This is a chance for fans to see behind-the-scenes involving these quarterbacks and quite frankly, it’s pretty awesome to see.

While I’m sure Buffalo Bills fans would love to see Josh Allen in front of the camera, Allen tends to stay quiet so the likelihood of him being on this kind of show is slim. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Out of these three quarterbacks on the show, a lot of people would say that Burrow is the best one. If he had a defense that would actually make a stop last season, Burrow and the Bengals would have easily been Super Bowl favorites because of what he was doing for Cincinnati’s offense.

At the same time, like any other quarterback, Burrow has his flaws. He’s not perfect, but he is one of the best. However, is he the best? Well, in a recent clip of the series, there was a clip where after the Chiefs defeated the Bengals in Week 2 by a score of 26-25, Chiefs’ defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo went up to Burrow after the game and said “Other than our guy [Patrick Mahomes], you are the best in the business.”

Spagnuolo’s comment shows lots of indirect disrespect towards Josh Allen

Now granted, I’m not saying that Burrow isn’t one of the best in the business because he truly is. However, for Spagnuolo to say this to Burrow it shows that outside of Mahomes, he believes that Burrow is better than quarterbacks like Josh Allen and even Lamar Jackson.

Allen is the better athlete with a more powerful arm with less wide receiver talent than Burrow. It’s easy to be one of the top quarterbacks when you have arguably the best wide receiver duo in the game with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Allen went through last season without a true No. 1 receiver and he tore apart defenses in front of him (hence why he rightfully earned the MVP award).

I guess Spagnuolo forgot about the times where Allen made the Chiefs defense look absolutely silly and embarrass them at times. Even though Burrow has beaten the Chiefs’ defense in the playoffs, Allen is more of a challenge no matter what anyone says.
