Manchester United have reached full agreement with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo in a deal worth £63M — £55M fixed plus £8M in bonuses

Manchester United have reached a full agreement with Brentford to sign versatile forward Bryan Mbeumo in a deal worth £63 million, comprising a £55 million fixed fee and £8 million in performance-related bonuses, as confirmed on June 29, 2025.

The 24-year-old Cameroon international, who has agreed a five-year contract with an option for an additional year, is undergoing medicals at Carrington today, with an official announcement expected by Monday.

The transfer, a significant coup for Ruben Amorim’s side, sees United outmaneuver rivals Arsenal and Newcastle to bolster their attack for the 2025/26 season.

Mbeumo, who scored nine goals and provided six assists in 25 Premier League appearances last season despite missing three months due to an ankle injury, brings dynamism to United’s frontline. His 76 dribbles, 48 key passes, and versatility across the right wing, left wing, or as a central forward align perfectly with Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.

The move follows United’s blockbuster signings of Harry Kane (£122m) and Matheus Cunha (£62.5m), completing a transformative attacking overhaul after a dismal 15th-place finish and 44 league goals in 2024/25.

Mbeumo’s work rate and 12 international goals for Cameroon since 2022 make him a long-term investment, especially with Marcus Rashford on loan at Aston Villa and Alejandro Garnacho’s £50 million move to Arsenal.

Brentford, initially holding out for £70 million, accepted the £63 million package after United’s persistent negotiations, driven by CEO Omar Berrada. The deal’s bonuses are tied to appearances, goals, and United’s potential Champions League qualification, reflecting financial prudence under Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Fans on social media are buzzing, with one posting, “Mbeumo, Kane, and Cunha? United’s attack is scary now!” Others, however, question the spending, with a user noting, “£63m for Mbeumo after £122m for Kane? Hope Amorim’s got a plan.”

The transfer leaves Brentford scrambling, with Yoane Wissa and Kevin Schade expected to step up, while their £18 million signing of Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool softens the blow. For United, Mbeumo’s arrival addresses their need for a high-energy winger, complementing Kane’s clinical finishing.

With ongoing talks for Club Brugge’s Ardon Jashari to bolster midfield, Amorim’s rebuild is taking shape, positioning United to challenge for the Premier League and Europa League. Mbeumo’s imminent unveiling marks a bold step toward restoring Old Trafford’s glory.
