Liverpool ‘Working On Deal’ to Sign ‘Elite’ Star Alongside Guehi

Romano: Liverpool in Talks to Land ‘Elite’ Forward Hugo Ekitike Alongside Guehi Pursuit

Liverpool are actively negotiating a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Premier League champions are considering the French forward as a key target to bolster Arne Slot’s attacking options this summer.

The club is especially focused on strengthening the front line amid growing speculation that Darwin Núñez could depart, with Napoli reportedly showing strong interest. Should Núñez leave, Liverpool would gain both a tactical opening and financial room to bring in a new striker — making Ekitike a serious candidate.

Ekitike to Liverpool? Deal Gaining Momentum

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed Liverpool’s intent:

“Liverpool are pushing for this deal. They’re seriously considering adding Hugo Ekitike and are closely watching the situation with Darwin Núñez.”

Ekitike, widely seen as a rising star, made a permanent move to Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain last summer and had an outstanding Bundesliga season, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in 33 appearances.

Frankfurt are reportedly open to offers between £68 million and £76 million, a reduced price from their initial £84 million valuation.

Liverpool’s Summer Business Intensifies

So far, Liverpool have splashed close to £200 million on three major signings: Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. But the activity isn’t slowing down.

In addition to Ekitike, the Reds are also in talks to reinforce their defense, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi identified as a top centre-back target. Ongoing uncertainty around Ibrahima Konaté’s future has added urgency to those discussions.

As Liverpool reshapes its squad under Arne Slot, fans can expect more big moves in what is quickly becoming a transformative summer at Anfield.
