We’re down to our final two as we rank the quarterbacks that the Chiefs will play in 2025. Kansas City has usually gotten the best of this QB, but there’s no doubt that he’s one of the best in the game today. Let’s jump in. . .
No. 2: Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson
Jackson is one of the most decorated QBs in the league. He is a two-time MVP, three-time First-Team All-Pro, and four-time Pro Bowler. Jackson already holds the NFL record for most rushing yards by a QB with 6,173, and also owns the single-season record for rushing yards by a QB with 1,206.
The Ravens selected Jackson with the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He took over as their starter midway through his rookie year and never looked back. There isn’t much left for Jackson in the way of regular season accolades, but the pressure is mounting on him to lead Baltimore to postseason success.
Jackson has a 3-5 record in the playoffs and has yet to make it to the Super Bowl. His numbers have been solid, but he hasn’t been able to seal the deal during crucial moments at the end of games. He has made it to one AFC Championship Game, falling to the Chiefs 17-10 as they held Jackson to a 54.1 completion percentage on the day.
Jackson is 1-4 in his career against Kansas City. His lone win against them came in 2021 as the the Ravens edged out the Chiefs 36-35. In their most recent matchup, K.C. won a thriller in the 2024 regular season opener 27-20, despite Jackson having a solid day with 273 passing yards and 122 rushing yards.
The Chiefs will host the Ravens in Week 4 of the 2025 season. Although it’s an early season matchup, it could be pivotal for playoff seeding as both teams should be among the AFC’s best. K.C.’s defense will have to once again be prepared for the two-headed monster rushing attack of Jackson and Derrick Henry, which combined for a whopping 2,836 yards in 2024.
