DONE DEAL: Arsenal completes first summer transfer signing as the striker arrives in London to sign six-years contract

Arsenal have reportedly indicated that a €55 million plus €10 million offer would be the range they are willing to propose for Viktor Gyokeres.

According to A Bola via Sport Witness, Arsenal are unwilling to go beyond the €55 million plus €10 million offer they indicated recently for Viktor Gyokeres. The Gunners remain interested in the striker, as they have seemingly made the above proposal a take-it-or-leave-it bid for the Portuguese side to consider.

Arsenal are waiting on Sporting CP to make up their mind about the future of Viktor Gyokeres. Over the past week, the saga has devolved into an angry war between the Portuguese club and the striker’s camp, following claims that the club went against their promise of selling the Swede at a certain price range.

Sporting CP tried to hold talks with Gyokeres to resolve the issue, but the striker’s camp have repeatedly rejected the idea of the said meeting. There was a reported bid from Arsenal worth €55 million plus €10 million in add-ons, which was not made official.

Another story states that should Sporting CP receive a €60 million fixed offer for the striker and reject it, the club might have to pay his agent a certain percentage of that amount as a commission. Hence, the Portuguese champions are probably treading on thin ice when it comes to making anything official at the moment.

Arsenal are already looking for alternatives and could pursue other targets should Sporting stick with their stance of an €80 million fee. The Gunners are hoping to close the deal for less, as they have other names like Benjamin Sesko, for whom they are parallelly conducting talks.

Arsenal make take-it-or-leave-it offer
As the saga rumbles on, Arsenal were encouraged recently after it was revealed that Gyokeres would not prefer a switch to Manchester United. The Gunners believe that their previous offer of €55 million plus €10 million is reasonable enough as well as meets with earlier claims from the player’s side that Sporting could accept a €65 million all-inclusive offer for the 27-year-old goal machine.

Some reports stated the Gunners could return with an improved offer, but that may not be the case, as the report claims this €55 million plus €10 million is a take-it-leave-it bid. Hence, the ball might be in Sporting CP’s court at the moment, as they will have to make a firm decision on Arsenal’s said proposal or risk losing further value on their 27-year-old goal machine.
