The Miami Heat may be one of several teams in play to sign Damian Lillard after his surprise release from the Milwaukee Bucks. Yet, that’s not the only fish they’re trying to fry. The Heat may also be active in the trade market.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Heat have also “been linked” to a trade for Sacramento Kings swingman DeMar DeRozan. They’ve also been named as a “possible destination” to trade for Utah Jazz forward John Collins.

Collins has been on the trade block for several seasons, even after the Utah Jazz acquired him from the Atlanta Hawks. Yet, he’s flourished in Utah, coming off a season where he averaged 19 points per game while shooting a blistering 39.9% from 3-point range.

He’s also set to play on an expiring contract, with a salary of $26.6 million this season. That expiring contract could be viewed as another attractive fit in Miami, potentially setting them up to spend big on the 2026 NBA free agency class.

Meanwhile, DeRozan is a soon-to-be 36-year-old six-time All-Star who can still hit mid-range jumpers with the best of them. DeRozan hasn’t been named to an All-Star team for the past two seasons, but he still averaged an impressive 22.2 points per game last year with the Sacramento Kings.

DeRozan, however, still has two years left on his contract and will earn a $24.8 million salary this upcoming season. He’s also due for a slight raise in 2026, where the 37-year-old will make $25.7 million, wherever he plays.
