Kansas City Chiefs fans aren’t particularly fond of Maxx Crosby. It’s bad enough that he plays for the Las Vegas Raiders but he also happens to be really good, which is unfortunate. It’s way more fun when the Raiders have bad players on their roster.

That being said, Crosby is good for entertainment. He recently spoke about how he hopes the Raiders can follow the model that the newly-crowned NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder put together in recent years.

“You play to win. We just saw it in the NBA: OKC, just a couple years ago, was one of the worst teams in the league. But they had a lot of young guys, they trusted the process, they developed and now they’re the world champions.
“We’re trying to win. I want to win so badly. I put everything into it. I want everybody else to think like that. And that’s been my goal, just bringing as many guys along as I possibly can.”

Maxx Crosby is on the wrong team if he wants to win games

Chiefs fans will obviously find this funny because if Crosby values winning, why does he keep re-signing with the Raiders? Since he entered the league as a fourth-round pick by the Raiders in 2019, Crosby’s squad has had just one winning season, which came in 2021 when the Raiders went 10-7 and made the playoffs.

Funny enough, the Raiders are coming off their worst season since Crosby joined the team, winning a lowly four games in 2024. Crosby is tied to the Raiders through 2029 (though there is a potential out for 2028) so if winning is truly what’s important to him, maybe he should have thought twice about signing that extension in Las Vegas.

Hey, maybe with Tom Brady calling the shots for the Raiders now they’ll have a chance at building a better roster and getting more competitive but that feels hard to do with the Chiefs in the same division. Not to mention, the Broncos and Chargers have both taken huge strides toward improving as well.

Crosby and the Raiders might have to face the music — They’re the worst team in the AFC West by a pretty wide margin. That turnaround probably isn’t happening anytime soon and Chiefs fans are quite happy about that. The worse the Raiders are just makes everything more entertaining for Chiefs Kingdom.
