Taylor Swift has been granted an extension of the restraining order against her alleged stalker who falsely claimed she is the mother to his child. Now, an insider tells the Daily Mail why the ongoing case is so ‘heartbreaking’ for the pop star.
A Los Angeles judge issued the temporary restraining order (TRO) on June 9 against Jason Brian Wagner. It has now been extended until July 21.
Swift, 35, alleged that Wagner, 45 and an ex-convict from Colorado, keeps showing up to her home uninvited and claiming that she is the mother of his child.
She also claims, per past court documents, he has changed his address on his driver’s license to her LA residence as part of an alleged years-long harassment spree.
An insider recently told the Daily Mail Swift ‘can’t stress about it more than she already does because she doesn’t want it to consume her, but she is heartbroken that she has to deal with this.’
The insider explained that Swift ‘had to deal with and will likely have to continue to deal with overzealous people out there that want to harm her safety,’ as many celebrities have over the years.

In the supplemental document filed June 27, there are hundreds of pages of emails and scenic photos from 2023 to present from Jason Brian Wagner to Swift’s team
The source added that Swift ‘has done and will continue to do everything she needs to do with the courts and her security to be protected and safe.’
They continued, adding that Swift ‘believes in her people’ and ‘believes in the courts and that they will all allow her to be safe.’
Amid the ongoing court case, our source explained that ‘the safety of her close family and friends is important as she wants them to be safe when they are in her presence.’
On June 27, a massive supplemental document compiled by Swift’s staff was filed in Los Angeles that included hundreds of pages of emails and screenshots of text messages sent by Wagner between 2023 and 2025.
One lengthy email Wagner sent on Feb. 26, 2025, starts with: ‘Good morning again this email is strictly for my wife Taylor Alison Swift either reproduction or use of this email is not legal it is solely for her to read only and for those who need to know.’
Another email from January was sent around the time of the Golden Globes, with Wagner asking if he can go with her to the award ceremony because, ‘I’ve been really worried about her… I’m her left hand man.’
The hundreds of emails are only a glimpse of the alleged stalking and harassing that has been going on behind the scenes.

The source told the Daily Mail that dealing with these stalkers is ‘a bad part of her overall wonderful life.’
The insider described it as ‘something she will always have to deal with’ and explained ‘she just has to accept that everyone will be doing their jobs and she will be safe, even when people are trying to be sketchy around her.’
Despite the court drama, Swift has been enjoying her summer. The Grammy winner has spent time in Boca Raton, Florida, with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, as he prepares for what could be his final season playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.
