After signing Jake LaRavia in free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers remain active in the market as they look to fill a big need at center.

Their primary focus is now on seven-year NBA veteran Deandre Ayton, who recently left the Portland Trail Blazers via a buyout agreement.
The Milwaukee Bucks reportedly were also serious contenders for Ayton’s signature, but with their recent acquisition of Myles Turner, the LA Lakers have become the most likely suitor.
On top of that, Ayton was drafted first in the same class as current Lakers star Luka Doncic and shares an agency with the Slovenian, both represented by Bill Duffy of WME Basketball.
This connection could give the Lakers a rolling lob threat that complements Doncic’s playing style perfectly.
However, according to Dan Woike of The Athletic, the Lakers are still exploring other options in free agency and trades. A key decision is expected soon.
