Rankіng QBѕ Chіefѕ wіll рlay іn 2025: Former Pro Bowler іѕ lookіng to regaіn hіѕ form, but haѕ never beaten Kanѕaѕ Cіty

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) meets with Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (16) after an AFC divisional round game

No. 9: Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence

It’s been a strange run for Lawrence throughout his four-year NFL career. He struggled during his rookie seasons under incompetent head coach Urban Meyer, but showed some promise. After Meyer was fired, Lawrence took a big step forward in 2022, throwing for 4,114 yards and 25 touchdowns, also tacking on five rushing TDs.

Lawrence pulled off an incredible come-from-behind win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2022 wild-card playoff round after Jacksonville trailed by 27 points at one point. The next week, he and the Jaguars fell to Kansas City in the divisional round 27-20.

Lawrence had another solid year in 2023, but his interception total increased to 14, and Jacksonville won just eight games. In 2024, he won just two out of 10 games that he started, missed two games due to a shoulder injury, as well as the final five games of the season from a concussion.

As he enters his fifth year, Lawrence will look to get back on track towards establishing himself as one of the elite QBs in the league. He has all the physical tools, and new head coach Liam Coen will attempt to elevate his game like he was able to do with Baker Mayfield when he was offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.

The Chiefs will travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars in Week 5 on Monday Night Football. Including the postseason matchup, Lawrence is 0-3 all time against Kansas City.
