As we continue to rank the quarterbacks that the Chiefs will face in 2025, we’re staying inside the AFC West for the second straight day.
This guy could be a thorn in Kansas City’s side for the next several years. Let’s jump right in. . .
No. 10: Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix
Selected 12th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Nix had a legendary senior season at Oregon in 2023, throwing for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns, an NCAA record 77.45 completion percentage, and also adding six rushing TDs.
Nix is now firmly entrenched as the Broncos’ franchise QB after a stellar rookie year. In 2024 he racked up 3,775 yards and 29 TDs, tacking on 430 rushing yards and four rushing TDs in 17 starts. He led Denver to a 10-7 record and its first postseason berth since 2015.
Expectations for Nix and the Broncos are sky high for 2025. Denver’s defense has the potential to be the best in the league, and Nix has new weapons to work with such as tight end Evan Engram, wide receiver Pat Bryant, as well as running backs RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins.
Nix played very well in a Week 10 game against the Chiefs in 2024, completing 73.3 percent of his passes for 215 yards and two TDs, but came up just short of winning as K.C. blocked a potential game-winning field goal as time expired. Nix played even better in Week 18 against the Chiefs, recording 321 passing yards and four TDs in a 38-0 blowout win.
However, that comes with an asterisk as K.C. rested all of its starters in preparation for the playoffs. The Chiefs will travel to Denver in Week 11 in 2025, then host the Broncos on Christmas Night in Week 17. Nix will look to take the next step in his development to be considered among the elite QBs in the league. Beating the Chiefs in a meaningful game would go a long way in accomplishing that.
