Coby White Isn’t Only Bulls Name Getting Serious Trade Interest

The NBA draft is almost at hand. While the Chicago Bulls aren’t the center of attention for obvious reasons, some experts feel they could be one to watch. It won’t be for what they do with the 12th overall pick but what they may do on the trade market. Everybody is talking about the possibility of them moving Coby White. Their former 1st round pick has steadily improved each year, with 2024-2025 being his best season. He is due a new contract soon. If the Bulls aren’t willing to give him a substantial raise, they may have to trade him. However, he isn’t the only one teams are eyeing.

According to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, Chicago is getting plenty of action on Lonzo Ball. His successful return last season from his long rehab from that devastating knee injury seems to have teams believing he will be back to his old self sooner rather than later.

The Bulls continue to receive calls from teams inquiring about Lonzo Ball, sources said. Chicago has not yet signaled whether they will be willing to trade the 27-year-old guard, who fought hard to make a comeback from multiple knee surgeries. Both Ball and Coby White are receiving a lot of interest.”

Despite only averaging 22 minutes a night, Ball still contributed 7.6 points, 3.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. He still showed flashes of that proficient point guard from a few years ago. Teams are always in need of such players.

Coby White is a different problem than Ball.

The Bulls don’t need to feel pressured about unloading him. Not only is he under contract this year, but they also have a club option for 2026-2027. He gives them tremendous versatility with the finesse of a point guard but the size of a shooting guard. His defense is also a big help for them. Coby White is under a time crunch. Deadlines spur action, and he may give the Bulls no choice eventually. Ball is different. There is no need to unload him unless Chicago either wants to or if they get an offer they can’t refuse. It hasn’t happened yet. Will it happen during the draft? It sounds like there’s at least some possibility. Knowing how this regime operates? Don’t bet on it. They’ve always been about maintaining the status quo.
