Marc Guéhi Sends Message After Officially Signing with Liverpool

Liverpool have officially completed the signing of England international Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace, marking another major addition to Arne Slot’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 24-year-old defender joins the Premier League champions in a deal reportedly worth around £30 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially increasing the total fee. Guéhi becomes the latest defensive reinforcement at Anfield, following Liverpool’s ambitious transfer window moves to strengthen all areas of the pitch.

In his first message as a Liverpool player, Guéhi shared his excitement about joining the club: “This is a dream come true. I’ve always admired the way Liverpool play, and to now be part of such a historic and ambitious team is incredibly exciting,” he said. “I’m ready to give my all for this badge and can’t wait to step out at Anfield. It’s time to push myself to the next level.”

Guéhi’s decision to choose Liverpool reportedly came down to the club’s clear vision for his role in the team and the opportunity to compete for major trophies. Despite interest from Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle, the defender was swayed by conversations with manager Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes.

“The manager made me feel valued and laid out a plan that really convinced me,” Guéhi added. “I know I’ll have to work hard to earn my place, but I’m here to fight for every minute on the pitch.”

Last season, Guéhi was one of Crystal Palace’s standout performers, featuring in 34 Premier League matches, scoring three goals, and providing two assists. His consistent form and leadership at the back made him one of the most sought-after defenders in England.

Liverpool’s aggressive transfer strategy this summer also includes deals for Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, signaling their intent to not only defend their Premier League crown but also make a serious push in Europe.

With Guéhi now in red, the competition in Liverpool’s backline will intensify — and the former Palace man is ready to embrace the challenge.
