What Crystal Palace are now demanding for Eberechi Eze opens door to potential Tottenham transfer

Crystal Palace Open to Eberechi Eze Exit – Spurs Could Strike with Instalment Deal

According to TBR Football, Crystal Palace are now reportedly willing to show flexibility regarding the release clause of star playmaker Eberechi Eze – opening the door for a potential summer transfer. Sources suggest Palace would accept a structured deal that allows the £60 million clause to be paid in instalments, rather than demanding the full fee up front.

This development will certainly pique the interest of Tottenham Hotspur, who have long admired the England international. Eze has been a target for the North London club dating back to 2019, when he was still dazzling Championship defences with Queens Park Rangers. Now, under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Thomas Frank, Spurs are said to be reigniting their pursuit of the 26-year-old.

Frank is believed to be a huge admirer of Eze’s unique blend of technical flair, creativity, and composure in the final third – traits that align perfectly with the Dane’s attacking philosophy.

Details of the Deal: Spurs Could Take Advantage

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed that Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is willing to negotiate a staggered payment structure for Eze’s £60 million release clause. As it stands, the Eagles are seeking an initial payment in the region of £25 million to £30 million, with the remaining £30 million to £35 million to be settled in two subsequent instalments.

In addition to the base fee, the clause includes performance-based add-ons amounting to £8 million, further sweetening the deal for Palace if Eze flourishes at his new club.

Palace previously agreed to a similar financial arrangement in the case of Michael Olise, who departed Selhurst Park for Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants activated his release clause through a multi-instalment structure – a precedent that makes this current negotiation with Spurs all the more plausible.

While the South London club are not under immediate pressure to sell Eze, his contract is edging into its final two years, prompting Palace to consider options that would secure a significant guaranteed fee rather than risk losing the player for less down the line.

Tottenham Could Need to Sell Before Buying – Son’s Future Uncertain

Although Spurs are eager to strengthen their attacking options this summer, they may first need to offload some senior players to balance the books and make room in the squad. One high-profile name that could be sacrificed is long-serving forward Son Heung-min.

TBR Football has previously reported that Thomas Frank is open to the idea of moving on from Son, despite the South Korean’s legendary status at the club. Discussions between the player and new coach are expected in the coming weeks, and while Son is open to continuing his Spurs journey under Frank – especially with the lure of Champions League football – his future remains unresolved.

If Tottenham do proceed with signing Eze and also target younger talents such as Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, Son could find his role reduced to that of a rotational player or even bench option – a scenario he may not find appealing at this stage of his career.

A Summer of Change for Spurs and Palace

The coming weeks could be pivotal for both Tottenham and Crystal Palace. Spurs are looking to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts, and acquiring Eze would represent a statement of intent. For Palace, the possibility of losing another talismanic attacker following Olise’s departure is a blow, but the right deal structure may ease the sting.

Eze’s flair and versatility would make him a valuable asset in Tottenham’s attacking ranks – and now, with Palace softening their stance on payment terms, the path to signing him appears clearer than ever.
