An aura of invincibility! That’s what the Chiefs carry in every matchup. It’s like the Roman Empire. Andy Reid must be feeling like Aristotle, mentoring and guiding Patrick Mahomes – Alexander of the franchise. They are on a mission to capture the league, if not the world. And other legends are feeling in danger. Their legacies are under threat.

After their most recent battle, the week 10 matchup against the Broncos, the rival head coach Sean Payton made some claims. His counterpart didn’t like it.

War of words between Andy Reid and Sean Payton

After losing the Chiefs game by 14-16, the Broncos HC called it a ‘tough loss‘ before praising his team by saying, “I was proud how they (Broncos) fought, thought we outplayed them.” According to Payton, they played well, but couldn’t finish the job. Though he didn’t take a mean jibe at the divisional rivals, Reid didn’t let it slide.

He retorted back with a fact-based statement that read, “You’d probably say Denver outplayed us, but they ended up not winning the game.” That’s right, coach! That’s going to hurt them much more. Might as well rub salt on their wounds. But it’s accurate. The Broncos were better than the Chiefs in the rushing game with 78 yards to 58 yards. They even had more drives (9-8) but lost the game.

The Chiefs are undefeated, which makes them the number 1 target. With 9-0 after 10 weeks, they are rewriting the league records. It’s mesmerizing. Their players are injured. The veteran TE, Travis Kelce, and the premier QB, Patrick Mahomes, are also struggling a bit, but the game has been top-notch.

However, the coach made one thing clear. They want the respect and credit for working hard. It’s not overstepping. With back-to-back Super Bowls, they deserve it. The target is the 3-peat.

One thing that amazed the fans, even the Chiefdom, was their tenacity. Didn’t matter who got injured, it was the same process of studying the rivals and finding their best strategy to win. When Isiah Pacheco, Rashee Rice, and Marquise Brown got injured, any team would have panicked. But the coach ensured the situation was calm.

It’s the time to return for other generals of the Empire that th Chiefs are. Imagine drums being thumped, signaling the danger to other teams in the NFL. HC Reid revealed during the interview with KSHB41 that the receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Isiah Pacheco, and the DE Charles Omenihu, are close to a return. That’s an enormous boost.

It would frighten the rivals. But Patrick Mahomes needs to be patient. Overconfidence might harm the locker room. However, with everything planned well in advance, it might not happen. Do you think they would 3-peat undefeated? Let us know in the comments. If not, do let us know which team will.
