The Golden State Warriors continue building their championship culture through familiar channels.
Steve Kerr has delivered four NBA titles and six Finals appearances during his tenure, compiling a 567-308 regular season record that speaks to sustained excellence.
The organization took another step in that direction Thursday by promoting a coach already familiar with their system.
“Steve Kerr’s son is the newest member of the Warriors’ NBA coaching staff,” NBA on ESPN shared.

Nicholas Kerr earned this promotion after two successful seasons leading Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
The 32-year-old guided the team to identical 20-14 records in both campaigns while securing fourth place finishes in the Western Conference.
His specific role with the main roster remains undetermined, but Nick Kerr brings substantial organizational knowledge to his new position.
He previously spent three years working as a video coordinator and player development coach before taking over the G League responsibilities.
The younger Kerr developed his basketball foundation through diverse experiences.
His college playing career included stops at San Diego and Cal, where he walked on to the program.
Professional development came through time in San Antonio’s film room under Gregg Popovich, an experience that sharpened his tactical understanding.
That Spurs connection created memorable moments when San Antonio faced Golden State during the 2018 playoffs, with Nick working against his father’s team from the opposing bench.
Among Steve Kerr’s children, Nick stands alone in pursuing coaching as a career path.
The Warriors now have another Kerr contributing to their pursuit of championship standards, though his next assignment will determine how quickly he impacts the main roster.
