The Miami Heat are typically pretty quiet during the trade season, but that may change this year.
According to Brett Siegel, teams across the league believe the Heat are “close to the finish line” in acquiring Kevin Durant.
However, they may need to add Kel’el Ware to the package if they want Durant to come to them.
“Although the two sides are not right at the finish line yet in trade talks, one player can get them there. That would be Kel’el Ware, a rookie standout in Miami’s frontcourt who is a giant with his 7-foot-4 wingspan and two-way potential. If the Heat include Ware in a revamped package to what they have already offered, talks with the Suns will reach a whole new level, as he is the player Phoenix wants in discussions with Miami,” Siegel said, per NBACentral.

The Heat have been just one of the teams vying to get Durant over the last few weeks, but it sounds like they are getting close to making a deal.
It’s not clear what their current offerings are, but the Phoenix Suns apparently want one more piece added: Ware.
The Suns can’t be blamed for looking at Ware because he just had a massive rookie year.
He averaged 9.3 points and 7.4 rebounds during his 64 games.
The Suns clearly think that he could be the future of their team, but they surely want other assets and players, too.
If this happens, it’ll be a big deal that will go beyond just Durant and Ware.
The Heat are trying to make the right offering, but the clock is ticking, so they need to work fast and hard.
The Suns are listening to multiple options, and they will move forward with whatever is best for them.
Whether it be with the Heat or a different squad, the Suns will only commit to a trade with a team that gives them literally everything they want.
