Warriors Predicted to Trade Moses Moody For Bulls Star in Offseason Deal

Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic drives into the post as Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero defends at KIA Center on April 7, 2024.

The Golden State Warriors are coming off a solid season that saw them reach the second round of the playoffs before an untimely injury to Stephen Curry led to their elimination.

Of course, the Warriors were able to turn their season around at the trade deadline by acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat to pair alongside Curry and Draymond Green.

With their veteran trio leading the way, Golden State will now look to upgrade their roster around them this offseason as they try to chase another championship next season.

One area the Warriors need to upgrade this summer is their center position, which has been a problem area for the last few seasons.

With this in mind, Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey recently released a mock trade that would send Moses Moody to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for a center to help bolster the Warriors’ frontcourt.

In the trade, Bailey has Golden State sending Moody and Buddy Hield to Chicago in exchange for Nikola Vucevic, the 45th pick in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft along with a 2028 second-round pick.

“For the Golden State Warriors, this is a bit of a desperation move, since Vucevic is 34 and on an expiring contract,” Bailey wrote. “But they were woefully thin at the 5 in 2024-25. And even at this age, Vuc is a starting center who can pass, space the floor and fit into Golden State’s read-and-react system.”

While Bailey did point out that this would be a desperation move for the Warriors, it also makes a ton of sense due to Vucevic’s potential fit with the team.

Golden State has been linked to Vucevic for the past few seasons and there is no doubt that he would fit well in their lineup next to Curry, Butler and Green due to his ability to space the floor and elite rebounding skills.
