The Memphis Grizzlies shocked many when they traded away Desmond Bane last weekend, but will they continue to make big changes?

Will they possibly create a deal with the Miami Heat that alters both teams for the long-term future?

According to NBA insider Vince Goodwill, the Heat might try to acquire Ja Morant, who once seemed unmovable for the Grizzlies.

“Don’t think I’m breaking news here, but in the middle of the whole Jimmy Butler saga last year, one name that multiple league sources brought up to me was, ‘Hey, you might want to check on Ja Morant in Miami.’ And I didn’t understand the iterations of it. I was like, this is going to be a really complicated trade — A, because of Jimmy’s extension; B, because of Ja’s long money. And there were iterations of Ja and Desmond Bane being shipped out, which sounds like it could be true, considering Desmond Bane was just traded yesterday,” Goodwill said, via NBACentral.

Goodwill heard about Morant potentially landing in Miami back when the Heat were attempting to end their dramatic breakup with Jimmy Butler.

At the time, Goodwill didn’t give much thought to the idea because he didn’t see how the Grizzlies would cut ties with Morant.

But with them moving Bane, the possibility becomes larger.

Chances still may not be huge, but Memphis could be preparing to restructure and rebuild the team.

Morant would be an attractive addition for the Heat, although they’d have to give up a lot to get him.

Obviously, a deal for him wouldn’t be on their minds if they trade for Kevin Durant, so fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet.

But people should keep their eyes on Miami and Memphis.

Both of these teams may be at the point where they are ready to really shake things up, which could lead to a trade like this.
