The Kansas City Chiefs are going to be one of the best teams in the NFL as long as they have their core pieces in place.

For nearly the last decade, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have been two major pieces to that core.

However, Kelce had a very shocking admission to make on Tuesday.

Kelce’s recent comments aren’t making him any friends around the league:

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is revealing a little too much information these days as his career seems to be winding down.

Recently, Kelce exposed that between 50-80% of players in the NFL use cannabis. He then added how players avoid the drug tests.

“If you just stop in the middle of July, you’re fine. Guys stop a week before, and they still pass because everybody’s working out in the heat.”

There will not be too many players that like that he just exposed something that many of them do, which could easily lead to the NFL changing things up in the future.

Travis Kelce knows all about smoking weed since he did so in college.

In 2010, he missed the entire college season for the University of Cincinnati after he failed a drug test when he tested positive for marijuana.

That then became a red flag in 2013 when teams began their draft plans, and he ended up being drafted in the third round by the Kansas City Chiefs.

That suspension changed the course of history as we know it.

Back in April, Travis and Jason Kelce reflected on their own NFL Draft results while discussing Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders dropping all the way to the fifth round before finally being picked by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 144 overall pick.

The brothers and host of The New Heights podcast couldn’t fathom how Sanders dropped so far.

The subject also conjured memories about their own NFL Draft day status, with Jason not getting selected until the sixth round with the No. 191 overall pick, and Travis dropping to the third round with the No. 63 overall pick.

Travis Kelce dropped out after his marijuana suspension during his sophomore year at the University of Cincinnati.

“The funny thing about Trav is that there was nothing outside of the injuries. I guess you had two things — you had a few injuries, and then you obviously had the marijuana thing stemming from your sophomore year,” Jason recalled.

“You probably got drafted an entire round later than you should have,” Jason continued.

“I just think it’s funny sometimes, looking back, and there are all these concerns about Travis Kelce, and everybody, whoever knew you, knew you were a great kid. You just had a mess up with weed. And then, all of a sudden, teams aren’t picking you for it. Think about today. Even back then, 75 percent of NFL players are smoking weed. What the f–k are we talking about? We’re gonna act like this is a death sentence?”

“Yeah,” Travis chimed in. “We are.”

His suspension led to him changing positions in football to tight end, where he still plays today.

Kelce is now one of the best to ever play the position.
