Tom Brady Doesn’t Hold Back About Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

Ron Cook: Can Patrick Mahomes ultimately supplant Tom Brady as the best to ever play? | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.Tom Brady has made the move to the broadcasting booth with Fox and has been very vocal about his praise for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

While some fans have been annoyed about Brady seemingly never critiquing Mahomes’ play, the “GOAT” is not about to change his broadcasting style anytime soon.

Throughout his first year in the broadcasting booth, Brady received a lot of critiques himself. There were times where he sounded nervous or simply did not have a good flow while calling the game. Fans who don’t like Brady were very vocal about those issues.

Speaking of the fans upset with Brady for not saying negative things about Mahomes, he shared some words about why he approaches the game that way.

Brady recently did an interview with Complex Sports where he went into detail about why he won’t send criticism at Mahomes.

“How can I throw shade at someone who’s as amazing as he is?” he said. “I know what he’s been through, and I think the one position that I’m in now as a broadcaster, I do feel responsibility. A: To tell the fans what I see and be honest and upfront about everything. But also realize that what these guys are doing on the field is extremely difficult.”

In his broadcasting career, Brady made it clear that he would rather point out how good players in the NFL are rather than tear them down with criticism.

“That’s what I want to do on TV,” Brady said. “And thought it was a great season because I’ve got a great team at FOX. And we’re going to keep building on the success we had in year one.”

It’s a different way to broadcast games, but it’s the style that Brady wants to have. Being a former player, he knows how difficult playing the game can be. He isn’t about to pile on players when they struggle.

Heading into his second year as a broadcaster, it will be interesting to see how Brady develops in the booth. His knowledge of the game is next level, but he’ll need to work on his flow and timing in order to take the next step.
