WOW…With one emoji, Charles Omenihu has Chiefs fans excited about his return

Charles Omenihu signals return to Chiefs with one emoji | Kansas City Star

While talking with reporters Monday, coach Andy Reid provided an encouraging update on three injured Chiefs players.

“I think they’re (Charles Omenihu, Isiah Pacheco and JuJu Smith-Schuster) all close,” Reid said. “I’d probably tell you JuJu (Smith-Schuster is) closer than the other two, but I would tell you that — we might have them out there, we’ll just see how it goes here today and tomorrow. They’re very close, all three of them.”

On Tuesday morning, Fox Sports NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported the Chiefs plan to designate Pacheco and Omenihu to return from Injured Reserve this week.

Omenihu underwent surgery in February for a torn ACL in his right knee. That injury took place in the Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game victory at Baltimore.

Less than 10 minutes after Schultz shared his news on social media, Omenihu posted a snake emoji on X. Fans took that to mean he’s returning to the Chiefs.

Fans were thrilled at the thought of Omenihu’s return. He had seven sacks in 11 games a year ago with the Chiefs. He added another sack and a forced fumble in the playoffs.

Here is a sample of what fans wrote in response to Omenihu’s post.
