Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift aren’t engaged (yet). But if the NFL tight end does decide to pop the question, he’s likely to spare no expense on an engagement ring for his pop star girlfriend.

When Kelce gets down on one knee, he’ll make Swift’s heart sing with a pricey piece of jewelry that captures her distinct style, predicts Nilesh Rakholia, a jewelry expert and founder of the jeweler Abelini.

“Taylor Swift’s jewelry choices suggest that if she were to choose an engagement ring, it would likely be a piece that is both personally meaningful and elegantly stylish, potentially with a vintage-inspired or classic feel, adorned with diamonds or other significant gemstones,” Rakholia said in an email.

The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer might eschew trendy designs for a piece with a “timeless silhouette,” such as a solitaire showcasing a jaw-dropping diamond or a colored gemstone, like a ruby or sapphire, Rakholia went on to say.

“The core design might lean towards something that won’t look dated quickly – a blend of classic structure with personalized flair,” he speculated. “She seems to appreciate pieces that can be cherished for a long time.”

But any ring Swift wears will likely also have a “personalized flair.” It could even contain Easter Eggs for her loyal fans to interpret, “perhaps relating to a significant date, a song lyric, or a shared symbol in her relationship,” the jewelry expert shared.

“The choice of gemstone could also tie into a specific album era’s color palette or thematic elements if the engagement happened during that period,” he added.

If there is a secret message in Swift’s ring, it would be part of a pattern. Earlier this year, the Grammy-winner was spotted wearing a thigh chain with a red “T” charm. It might have been a reference to her own first initial. Or, it could have been a nod to Kelce. After all, Swift once sang about wanting to wear her partner’s “initial on a chain round my neck not because he owns me but ’cause he really knows me.”

While the kind of ring Kelce might gift Swift is purely speculation at this point, one thing is certain: It will be expensive. Fortunately, cost shouldn’t be a concern for the Kansas City Chiefs star, who earned an estimated $17 million in 2024.

“While specific details remain unconfirmed, a ring of this caliber would typically range from $1 million to $3 million, depending on the gemstone’s quality, size, and craftsmanship,” Rakholia said. “Beyond its monetary value, the ring’s true worth lies in its emotional significance — a lasting symbol of love and commitment.”

Once he has the ring in hand, all that will remain is for Kelce to find the perfect moment to propose. That could be a challenge, given the couple’s high-profile romance.

“Travis wants this to be perfect, like something from a Nicholas Sparks movie,” a source recently told Radar Online. “He knows Taylor’s experienced some iconic moments in her life, and he’s determined to create something even more unforgettable.”
