After years out of the game, Lonzo Ball came back to the Chicago Bulls in 2024-25.
But now it seems like his return wasn’t for long.
According to Evan Sidery, Ball could be departing the Bulls this summer.
“After signing a two-year, $20 million extension in February, Lonzo Ball is expected to be made available in trade talks by the Bulls. Ball’s $10 million annual salary, which includes a team option for 2026-27, is easily digestible for contending teams in need of guard depth,” Sidery wrote on X.

After more than two seasons out of rotation because of a very serious knee injury, Ball made his return this year.
During his 35 games, he averaged 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
But now it seems like Ball will be on his way to another destination.
There are still questions and concerns about Ball’s long-term health, but his contract is relatively inexpensive.
That means that teams might be willing to take a chance on him because they don’t have to pay much to sign him.
Ball used to be one of the most beloved and exciting young guards in the league, but injuries repeatedly got in his way.
Now he is viewed as more of a supporting star, someone who could provide experience and expertise off the bench.
At the same time, he could be a starting point guard for the right squad.
No one knows where Ball will land or how much he will play.
The Bulls stuck by his side for years during his long road to recovery, but now they are ready to part ways and move on.
He will surely find another home in the NBA, but where?
