Warriors forward Draymond Green disagreed with head coach Steve Kerr’s comments about young forward Jonathan Kuminga, saying he hasn’t seen enough to conclude that Kuminga can’t play 38 minutes and help the team win with the current roster.
There have been some rumors swirling around about a possible trade involving young Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, following a significant change in his role after a mid-season Jimmy Butler trade.
3-pointers this season
The potential trade now seems even more realistic after Warriors head coach Steve Kerr openly stated that they can’t win with Kuminga playing 38 minutes per game given the current roster.
However, Warriors star Draymond Green voiced his disagreement with Kerr on The Draymond Green Show podcast.
Green said you can’t make assumptions about something that hasn’t been tested on the court, though he also reaffirmed his belief in Steve Kerr.
“Now, do I agree with that? I don’t know that I necessarily agree, because you just haven’t seen it,” Green said in response to Kerr’s comments.
Draymond also recalled Kerr’s decision not to give Jayson Tatum big minutes during the Olympics.
“We’re talking about the same man, the same legend, who didn’t play Jayson Tatum in the Olympics and dealt with all the flack that came with that,” Green noted.
Jonathan Kuminga has shown flashes of great potential this season, averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, making him an intriguing target for many NBA teams entering the offseason.
